Why do we read? Why do you read? Why do I read?
So many questions. I’ll give you my answer in this blog.
Personally, I love to read. Reading a book is relaxing, it helps me to escape my busy life and it brings me places!Reading is something you have to experience yourself. If you don’t like a book, try to compare it with food you didn’t like the first time you tasted it. Eventually you’ll find something of your taste! Whether you’re a hamburger type or a vegetarian there will be a book of your taste and you’ll fall in love with it. Once you have fallen in love…
When I was young my parents would read “Pluk van de Petteflet” and “Jip en Janneke” to me. All these adventures were brilliant.
When I was older I went on many adventures with “Pinkeltje“. Secretely reading in bed until late with a torchlight under my blankets so my parents wouldn’t notice.
After Pinkeltje it was time for books from the Dutch author Thea Beckman. She made me question many things in life, which is something I hope my own children will do as well when growing up. After Thea Beckman many books followed and many books will follow in the future, I’ll never stop!
Reading has always been part of my life and will always be part of my life as books take you places and broaden your horizon in many ways.
